xploview USB for iPad support

View a supported USB microscope on your iPad, capture photos and video, and measure a calibrated image.

Getting connected

Use a USB-C iPad running iPadOS 17 or later and a supported Sunpet USB microscope. Connect the microscope and allow camera access when the app asks. If the app says the microscope is unsupported, contact us for help.

Photos and recordings

Saved captures are available in the app’s gallery and in the Files app. In Files, open On My iPad and look for xploview. You can share captures from the gallery.

Measuring an image

Calibrate the current image against a known distance before measuring. Keep the microscope directly above the surface. Calibrate again if you change the height, focus or microscope magnification. A saved calibration should only be reused with the same setup.
